SAP Banking Services as a business process and IT platform for Banking and has become a truly global solution over the past few years. It covers the needs and requirements of banks of differing sizes across all 6 continents of the world, by providing a comprehensive and modular portfolio of solutions.

SAP started back in the early 90′s to offer not only their classical ERP products but also vertical solutions for the banking industry.

The first modules were assembled on the very same ERP platform as the classical SAP modules. Entering into the market segment of high volume processing banks, SAP decided for a 2-product-market approach addressing small and lower medium sized banks with ERP-based solutions and upper medium sized and large banks with a performance optimized platform approach.
